Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) agreed to adopt 10 of PWD Smart Farmability's Organic Terrarium Grow Box, the HOPE Box during the launch of the "Perumahan Bandar" (Micro Housing) that took place on 22 October 2019.
Held at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, the project was launched with the Ministry of Federal Territories (Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan), YB Tuan Haji Khalid bin Adbul Samad, Menteri Persekutuan, accompanied by YBhg. Dato' Nor Hisham A. Dahlan, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur (Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur), and other officials from DBKL.
PWD Smart Farmability also had the opportunity to share our efforts in empowering people with disabilities and their families to have fresh, nutritious, unrefrigerated vegetables & herbs for consumption at the comfort of their homes. Dr. Billy Tang, the founder of PWD Smart Farmability, explained about our goal in making a dent toward the unemployment rate among the disabled through our Zero Reject Policy. The policy aims to create meaningful jobs for the disabled so that we can continue to grow goodness, a helping community, and demonstrate Shared Prosperity in action.
The adoption of the 10 HOPE Boxes by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) for the SK (L) Jalan Batu has indeed served as a milestone for PWD Smart Farmability. It has fueled us to continue in our efforts to bring back food literacy to the younger generation through our low carbon initiatives.
We believe that regenerative agriculture is not about increasing yield, but it is about producing more of the right food the right way. PWD Smart Farmability aims to develop markets for healthier, organic, and regenerative agriculture food through our HOPE Box.
